Bigplanes is the importer of UMS engines for the EU and beyond.
We are responsible for all maintenance and repair of the engines. To make it happen we developed a dedicated Test-Bench. This Test-Bench enables us to perform all maintenance activities on a very high level.
Introduction of the Bigplanes Starter Package and Maintenance Voucher (starting with the 5-cylinder engines).
The starter package contains amongst others a torque wrench for the spark plug. This to ease maintenance and prevent the overtightening of the spark plug. It also contains a spare woodruff key, spare spark plug, feeler gauge, and fuel line. If the starter package is redundant then you can select the maintenance voucher.
The maintenance voucher can be used as the first time maintenance is needed. This will decrease the overall maintenance fee drastically. The description of the voucher is given when selecting the engine.
In-House maintenance:
All maintenance of the UMS gas engines is done in-house by Bigplanes. This also includes a warranty service. Bigplanes has over 45 years of gas engine maintenance experience and as such can perform the maintenance at a very high level.
We have all tools available to perform the maintenance needed like measuring the cylinder pressure, thrust, fuel consumption, ignition, wire and sensor testing, temperature check of each cylinder and an overall engine check by using thermal imaging etc.. All maintenance is done using a robust engine test bench with a metal protective safety cage for the propellor.
